Phil Mellinger, Chief Information Security Officer at First Data, is responsible for First Data’s overall Information Security posture.

What the Webinar is About:

In excess of $1 billion per year can be traced to payment fraud. It’s more important than ever to protect your business and your customers. Recently, fraudulent activities have included everything from skimming, to theft of cardholder data. Having an understanding of the types of fraud financial institutions and merchants are facing as well as the tools and resources that your organization can take advantage of to minimize the opportunity for fraud, is more important than ever.

Knowing what you are collecting and storing and ensuring its security has become such an important issue that that the credit card associations have created a joint Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard. The PCI standard details technical requirements for the secure storage as well as processing and transmission of cardholder data. This is an important area for retailers to understand and implement correctly and one that will be addressed in the Webinar.

In addition, Webinar participants will receive valuable information on types of payment card fraud, how current forces in the marketplace are driving and/or contributing to fraud, an overview of ID theft solutions and resources as well as some tips on accessing resources available from the card associations and other financial institutions.
